The Three Stooges, Saved by the Belle, 1939.
Alfie, Lewis Gilbert, 1966
The Beach (Danny Boyle, 2000)
I know people get antsy because “the book’s better!” but The Beach is one of the most perfect films ever made
Double Indemnity (Billy Wilder, 1944)
Maid in Hollywood (Gus Meins, 1934)
Men In Black (Barry Sonnenfeld, 1997)

This is on right now! Most welcome blast from the past evaaaa
Barbara Stanwyck in Stella Dallas (King Vidor, 1937)
Humphrey Bogart doing his own make-up on the set of The Return of Doctor X (Vincent Sherman, 1939)
Angels With Dirty Faces (Michael Curtiz, 1938)

I genuinely find it unacceptable that I am expected to pay just short of £10 to sit in a large room with unnecessarily large chairs, constantly high air conditioning, strangers who eat loudly and extortionately priced food just because I want to see a film that I’ve been looking forward to for aaaaaages.

It really irritates me that companies don’t see this stupid cycle they’ve managed to get themselves into. Of course there are less people going to the cinema when to do is so costly. That and the fact you’re positively against promoting British, foreign and diverse film for no real reason in particular.
